President Phoebe Maze called meeting to order 6:00pm.


Minutes: for the May meeting were approved .


Treasury Report: Balance as of August 22, 2019 is $4,523.97 . Traditionally that is generally the amount is GCC has carried forward in the third quarter or August. Treasurer, Debbie Macknight reported GCC is on track.


Gilmer Art Show unofficial tally sales were over $2,000 ,20 items were sold. It was a well done show. Gilmer staff was extremely helpful. The staff was also pleased with the sales, crediting price ranges GCC provided and the variety in work contributed.


Upcoming Shows and Exhibits:


Cherokee County Art Center, 94 North St. Canton, Ga 30114.

October 5-October 24.

Drop off Tuesday October 1 or Wednesday October 2, 11:30am-4:00pm.

Breakdown Oct 25-26.

The reception will be on a Saturday October 5, 2-4pm. Not on a First Friday, as in the past. No paperwork is pending at this time.

Exhibit: Georgia Clay Council January 11 – February 22, 2020, Richard Low Evans Gallery Opening Reception: January 11, 2020 5pm – 7pm.

Commitment to show due Thursday, November 7 at GCC quarterly meeting.

Art work due: December 20, 2019 11am – 4pm (Alternate Date -01/03/2020)

Artwork Pickup: February 23, 2020 11am – 4pm.

This is a fantastic facility, great gallery and reception area. This is a perfect way to start the new year. Plan ahead and have inventory available. December will creep up, plan now to participate. Marketing will be a topic at the November meeting.


Marietta /Cobb Museum is under investigation as a possible exhibit site for 2021. Details pending.


Workshops 2020:


Judy Barter See Judy Brater's work on FB. Search for @JudyBraterCeramics". Judy specializes in hand building and altering wheel work with textures, then adding nature’s subjects. She will also present glazing techniques using a video. Working on mid January dates $130+TBA pricing review for 2020. Registration, date, and pricing at November meeting.


Liz Zlot Summerfield see Liz Zlott Summerfield on Facebook or .She hand builds using slabs and templates. She offers a different format than what has been offered last few workshops.

March 7 - 8, 2020 $150+ TBA pending pricing review for 2020. Registration information and pricing available at November meeting.

Unoffical topics: after the meeting was adjourned, a couple interesting topics came up. Are you interested in a GCC Holiday Party? December ???? 2-5pm on a weekend?

Social Media also came up in conversation. There seems to be renewed interest in the topic. It’s a vast topic. What is of interest to you? Please be specific what interests you about social media? FB, Pinterest Instagram? Selling online? Other? No reply/response to either topic will be considered a no vote. Please reply by email...
