The Georgia Clay Council Presents:
Octopus Sculpting and Sprig Making with Stacy Morgan
In this fun and engaging hands on workshop, Stacy will present her techniques for sculpting octopus and applying them to functional and/or decorative forms.
She will demonstrate how to choose the placement and posture of the octopus for functionality and for visual appeal and explain the concepts of flow and composition. Stacy will also share her texturizing and surface decoration techniques, basic preparation of decorative slip for trailing and discuss the most effective means of safely drying, firing, and glazing for maximum impact on the finished pieces.

A demonstration on how to create sprig molds made from her original small sculptures will be included.

The Friday dinner is open to all participants, GCC members, and their partners. The dinner is provided by the GCC. Attendees are welcome to bring a beverage of their choice for themselves or to share.

Participants will need to bring their own clay, ware board, basic pottery tools and leather hard piece, and a hair dryer or heat gun is recommended.
