Welcome to our first annual Canton Empty Bowls event!
We are excited to use our skills as clay artists and potters to help alleviate food insecurity in our community. Since many of our members live close to Canton, we're focusing our efforts on this area. Eventually we'd love to support more events in the surrounding North Georgia area.
March 15, 2025
11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
For 2025 all proceeds, 100%, will go to the following three organizations that are impacting our community in a meaningful way.
Please consider donating your time, energy, and money to these worthy charities and join us March 15th for a special event.
Community Program Beneficiaries
A special thank you to the City of Canton for hosting the
Canton Empty Bowls Event!
What is an Empty Bowls event?
Empty Bowls is a grassroots movement created to raise money for food banks, soup kitchens, and other organizations that fight hunger. Artists and craftspeople create handcrafted bowls, and guests purchase a ticket to eat a simple meal of soup and bread.
This meal represents the reality of the food insecure and how a soup kitchen meal may be the only hot meal some in our community have access to.
Guests can keep their bowl as a reminder of the empty bowls in their community. 100% of the money raised will be donated to the local food organizations.
The bowls for this event will be created by the members of the Georgia Clay Council and some will be collected from other artists in the area. The GCC is a group of ceramic artists and potters in the Northwest Georgia area.
But...
We need your help to give these worthy charities a hand in helping our community. While the bowl is important to the event, it’s only an empty bowl until someone fills it... and provides hope for the food insecure.
Items needed include soup, rolls, cookies, water, paper goods, advertising, volunteers, equipment, and more!
